Aren Pattoukian is an Orlando-based, Middle Eastern, mixed media artist who utilizes expansive meanings in his sculptures to encourage his audience to engage, interact, and explore their own creativity. He defines creativity as self-validation, comfort within discomfort, and relating to things outside of personal experience. His work will be included in the Mattamy Homes Meridian Parks Art Walk in Orlando, FL (July - December 2024) and has been in the Exordium: BFA Exhibition I at the UCF Art Gallery at the University of Central Florida. He has earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the University of Central Florida in May 2024. His goal is to work alongside immersive creators; creating entertaining, and engaging sculptures for all viewers.
Artist Statement
I create interactive sculptures that explore creativity as self-validation, comfort within discomfort, and relating to things outside of personal experience. As a mixed media artist, I incorporate recycled and repurposed materials to transform over-consumed objects into an imaginative escape. I combine multiple mediums through attachment and deconstruction to create visual forms that heighten our senses and encourage multiple interpretations. Each interaction with my art invites a unique journey and connection to reveal the depth of inner creativity and endless possibilities waiting to be imagined.
